Views from the air of Cua Viet. Ships unload heavy equipment and troops camp on the beach while they prepare for war. This US Navy base was commanded by a Navy Captain (O6) and was the major trans-shipping point for supplies and equipment destined for the 3rd Marine Division. Cargo was off-loaded from deep-sea transports and reloaded onto shallow draft vessels for the trip up the Cua Viet River to Dong Ha.
