Although the flame throwers are fearsome weapons their range is
limited. And the flame tracks do not take mines gracefully. The bottom line is their
are few occasions for them to really go west. Most of their work is in base defense
and, as shown here, burning off the growth in unmapped USMC mine fields around A-4
and C-2. There is extra flame and a pillar of smoke when they find an old mine.
