Down the hill from Camp Carroll in the Cam Lo River there is a wide spot. This is the main water source and also a place for GI bathing. Hope the drinking water comes from up stream of the bath house. One of the first missions for the troops from 1/61 was guarding this site. It would have been an ideal ambush spot or a good place for the NVA to plant mines. Never heard of either one happening so I guess the guard details did good.
