LZ Tombstone was near the beach, not too far from Wunder Beach. Most construction had to be above ground. Digging was easy but holes collapsed in the sand. This bunker was dug in about four feet and used ammo crates to shore up the walls. Here is SGT Avery with the puppy outside his "much better than average" bunker. Shame he had to tear it down when 1/61 moved out about a month later.
